“Personal Brand is what people say about you when you leave the room” Jeff Bezos

Last Monday I was present at the Personal Branding Workshop at the Portimão Museum.

One of the first posts I put here on the Blog was about our Brand, (…), yes, because we are a Brand. Review the post on the link Leave your Brand .

I want to thank Phil and Angèl for reminding me of the importance of Personal Branding, as well as their shared experiences. If you want to get to know better Phil Pallen and Angèl Nijskens, just click on their names.

In this workshop I confirmed what I have always believed: The “misfortunes” of life can boost new projects. Losing work, suffering an accident, and other unhappiness can make us see life from another perspective.

But let’s get down to business … Personal Branding.

Personal Branding supports sharing knowledge with others. Although we become more vulnerable because we get to know each other, it will also make others evaluate us and they will trust more in us.

Something very important in Personal Branding is to remain faithful to ourselves and have our own value, making us unique. Never pretend to be who you aren’t because it will not work!

Also do not try to “conquer the World”, simply conquer the niche of people that interest you.

A very simple test (or not, ahahah) that was presented to me at this workshop is that we should describe ourselves in 3 words.

I’ll be honest, I still can’t, maybe because of my failing “to speak by the elbows” (portuguese expression for the ones who speak a lot), but I’ll try and I’ll get there!

I will not go any further, because currently exists the Internet to explain everything you need to know.

The purpose of this post was to let you know a litle bit more about what is Personal Branding and how instructive was this workshop of Phil and Angèl in a very succinct way.

I’ll see you soon!

Já tinha saudades destes posts e da maneira como nos alertam para a importância que, querendo ou não, temos nas vidas uns dos outros.
    Continua.
    Gostei.
